  • Holding responsibility for the maintenance of all traction power systems in line with manufacturer and Annual Maintenance Plan requirements
  • Monitoring condition, and undertaking fault analysis and rectification where required
  • Providing line management for the Traction Power Supervisor and multi-skilled technicians
  • Providing training and specialist support for systems users
  • Liaising with OEMs in the event of traction power issues or updates
  • Specifying any remedial work or alternative parts to maintain system functionality through the contract term
  • Comply with LUAS Discipline Managers R&R list attached below

As a Traction Power Manager you will have:

  • Ability to follow and respect safety procedures: Following safety procedures and being compliant with them is a priority within the role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both oral and written: Ability to write reports as well as communicate directly with stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Co-operative Teamwork – Ability to engage with staff, customers, and stakeholders at all levels in order to understand their concerns
  • Ability to identify problems and create innovative solutions and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to demonstrate competent knowledge of Power Management
  • Superb attention to detail and drive to deliver to the excellent results


  • Electrical Degree Qualification – NFQ Level 8
  • Educated and skilled in traction power discipline for over 2 years.
  • Significant leadership experience and proven ability to deliver outstanding standards of project management.
  • At least 5 years’ experience of working in the rail industry along with at least 2 years’ experience of leading a team

Salary: 70k – 72k
